Lilian Jiménez received her law degree from DePaul University College of Law in 2011.  She is currently the Associate Director of the Illinois Office of Welcoming Centers for Refugee and Immigrant Services.  She previously served as the Chief of Staff and Policy Director for Commissioner Jesus “Chuy” Garcia where she focused on immigrant justice, health equity and criminal justice reform.  She also served as the Director of the Fair Labor Standards Division of the Illinois Department of Labor where she collaborated with workers’ rights groups to create meaningful access for low-wage workers. She has previous experience advocating, organizing and policy-making in Chicago communities in the areas of immigrant rights, labor rights, international human rights, police accountability and civil rights.
